Default PCS and University

Hello,

For all the University students with PCS, how do you manage your studies with PCS? What strategies do you use?

All answers are appreciated.

How many classes are you taking? What symptoms or struggles do you have? Are you taking any medications?

Don't push through the pain. A concussed brain needs rest from intense high-level cognition. University life is hectic and can overwhelm a concussed brain. Pushing through the pain triggers an overactive inflammation response, and that is likely the cause of PCS.

Lower your activity/coursework to a level you can tolerate comfortably with minimal pain. Once your condition stabilizes and begins to improve, gradually increase your activity level. Do just enough activity to cause mild discomfort, but not so much to cause a setback. Then do a little more each week or month.

You are young. Take the time to heal your head, so you can have a good noggin for life. If that means dropping classes, then do so. You can catch up later.

Also, eat a healthy anti-inflammatory diet.
