Thank you for all of your help so far, friends.
After going to PT for about two months, I’ve developed constant and excessive cracking throughout my entire spine, but mostly present in my neck. It is extreme and does not seem localized (like, in one spot in the neck), but happens every time I move slightly. I’ve never had cracking before and assuming it was either from whiplash or joint mobilizations from PT (or both?), I am reaching out simply to be educated on what the constant cracking is indicative of. I mean, what could this be a signal of/what could be happening physically? What can I do to help this new symptom if it is something that needs to be addressed? Thank you, again. |

PT or your MD should be able to help with answers on that, talk to them , and you may need imaging iof the spine f they aren't sure.
Could be arthritis or stuck joints and stiffness..

Jomar,
Thank you for the response. I reached out because both my PT and MD did not know/threw up their hands. They did suggest cervical instability, but were not sure, and said that would have little to do with excessive cracking? I guess I need to seek imaging! Might I ask also, what do you mean by “stuck joints”? Thank you! |

There are a other avenues that you could try besides your MD and PT.
- NUCCA or Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor: These are specialized chiroproactors that have helped many people that I've talked to with concussions. I haven't been to one myself but it sounds like a much more gentle approach than going to a traditional chiro - Osteopath - Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist: Very gentle approach which allows your body to come back into alignment and may help with any other concussion symptoms you have. Tough to say if it would fix something structural but it probably wouldn't hurt |
