Hi. I was told by a neuro scientist that your brain swells after a knock and that could cause the tight headed brain being squeezed feeling. I guess we all have hyper sensitive brains and it would not take much of a bump to cause this - so that's an idea. Lucy.

Hi Froglady, thanks for your reply on the Topamax. I still haven't decided whether to try it or not. I don't need to lose any weight at this time and am mostly concerned about dizziness and memory loss with this med. Also there are some very serious side effects listed.

Hi Froglady, I'm wondering if the Lyrica could cause some of your memory problems, have you checked out all the side effects?
I always had a fairly good memory before this PCS and I hope now I am back to where I was before, but who knows - some days are better than others. |

I know that exact feeling. In fact, about 2 nights ago, I got up to pick up one of my kitties, and as soon as I stood up, I had to sit back down! I thought the whole room was spinning!!! |

I have just seen a doco on TV and a woman was being treated with botox for migraines - just about fell off my couch - but then botox is meant to deaden muscles which then relax - lessens tension etc - I guess if nothing works why not - botox is meant to be temporary. Personally I don't much like needles!!Lynlee

Yea...I had a lot of the headache symptoms mentioned in this thread. The tingling was the one of the wierdest feelings. But I would like to add one more. There was a point where I was feeling cold air being blown in my head. Like when you blow on a wound or something. It was very strange. Doctors said it happens, but they don't know too much about PCS.

I just left my physician because I was in a car accident and have had head pain for a year. Had a MRI and the results were normal but I still have the head pain. I can't believe the number of people that described the heaviness, tingling, heaviness and the sensitivity to cold there heads have suffered. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the discomfort I have for a year. Although I don't wish what I've been through it was comforting to hear someone else explain what I've been through.

I have been down the same path. I tryed neurontin first and had a terrible experience with it including mood changes, severe dizziness, and much more. About a month ago my doctor convinced me to go on Topamax so I started out at the lowest dose possible. I had an even worse reaction with Topamax and felt flat, dizzy, and terrible. I also hit my head while on Topamax and the result was terrible, I think from the medicine. It may work for some people but I have never heard of success.
Good Luck! |
