Default Merry Christmas

Hi everybody - it is actually Boxing Day here - meant to be hot and sunny, and is just very humid windy and wet.

Took my first provigal tablet an hour ago - and am heading for the shower shortly.

Coped with cooking dinner yesterday without forgetting anything - about the first time in a long time - often I used to find prepared dishes in the fridge that I had totally forgotten about - would look at the table and know something was missing but never clicked - just makes life more interesting!!

I hope all of you in "yesterdays" part of the world have an enjoyable day with friends and family. - Just remember - peace calm relax!!!

Lynlee

Default Thank you jeffn!

No cookies -ha ha - a very good Christmas pud though!!! I have a good system with recipes now, get everything out on one end of the bench and after you have used it put it away - takes longer but well worth it - no more double up on the chilli!!! (and stranger things!)

I have not gone for my morning nap yet and we have not gone to the cricket - weather too grotty! All we girls are now thinking of going to see a film - girls as in me, my daughter and daugher in law - gosh saying that I have a daughter in law makes me think I could be getting old!!!

Yes 2008 is going to be better - I have 6 and 1/2 years to make up - look out world!!! Oh and while I remember my kids have clubbed together and given me Joe Cocker tickets he will be at a vine yard near here in February - when the weather is more settled.

Peace calm and relax!!! Hope you are doing something special today jeffn and no head banging anybody!

Love and hugs everybody - my new cyber family!!!!!

Thanks Lynlee, sounds like you are doing really well - great! I hope the Provigil works for you and you can stay awake all day. I had a very nice Christmas with my family and am getting some good headache relief from the amytriptylene. It still makes me a bit drowsy, but beats the bad headaches. Enjoy your days off and I hope next year will be better for all of us.

Default Sissy and Jeffn

Hi, thank you for that!

I am not feeling very happy - my bubble has burst.

I took the first tablet on Boxing Day - only 100mg - nothing happenned - I admit I was really tired and I did end up with a massive head ache that night and couldn't sleep - like I think I slept an hour - 2 max. So I didn't take one the next day - 27th and had a great sleep last night - plus all visitors gone home (overstayers) Thennnnnnnnnnn this morning I took another tablet only the 100mg and at 10.30 felt soo bad I went to bed. Got up felt awful and I will continue this later... it was like I had the symptons back in a vengeance - head too painful to sleep, nauseous etc. Bad emotions. Can't convince myself that the drug worked - no mind over matter here!

I am going to have one final go, drug free tomorrow and then the next day have a half dose, so will be 50mg - the only reasonable thing I can think of is my tolerance to the drug is not good - given that I have never taken much in the way of drugs - who knows - clutching at straws?? All I can think is that it is not fair!!! It is so not fair - it stinks!

PCS McGee - any wisdom for me?? Jeffn and Sissy some rational thoughts?? Lori - I think I have failed !!

Default No Drama/no Headaches

Good Morning Lynlee, Sorry to read about your negative side effects with the medication Proyigal, I do not know much about this medication, but it sounds like your body and brain are telling you they don't like it and like many who post here I am very anti drug, as McGee would say there are no silver bullets for PCS.

Christmas this year was very simple. I went out and had dinner with some friends all positive energy people made some phone calls or emails the people that I love and care about. No Stress, No Non sense, No Drama and No Migraines. Cleaning My House and keeping the stress and negative people out of my life.

Hum whats up with that I have not lost my temper in a few weeks now and no migraines for several weeks, but I do use medication to prevent the migraines from starting in the first place and no negative side effects from this medication at this time, so prevention is one of the keys in regards to managing the migraines.

My friend Mary sent me a nice email Christmas Day in regards to Starting a New Life and asked what she could do to help. Very focused on this idea and that is the direction I'm moving in. I have a lot of work to do right now.The re building of my brain is a slow and some times painful process and it is a work that only I can do. Physician Heal Thy Self.

Lynlee all I can do here is share my experience.I'm making progress but I'm not setting myself for failure by being unrealistic in setting up my goals and expectation in this healing process.

Baby steps will get me to the bus and appling Kaizen to this problem has been very helpful for me as each one of the symptoms of TBI/PCS are being dismantled one at a time and when this work is finished I'm going after the cause.

Take one step at a time and if something does not work to solve the problem try something else.

Take Care Jeffn

PS: One thing I do is write out small question on a 3x5 card and I keep them in a small box on my desk this is one form of prayer for me and once a week or so I review the questions I've writen. Some of the questions are answered and they go into a thank you box and some of the question are not answered I let them sit.

Example: What does my brain need to heal its self ?

Well, darn. I'm sorry to hear that the provigil isn't working for you. I'm on a much higher dose, which as you know has good and bad affect.

I can NOT take it two days in a row- this I've learned the hard way. I also have to take half in the morning and half at around 11 am (no later).

Hopefully there will be something to help you with concentration and energy. This just doesn't sound like it's IT for you.
