Default "Traumatized Brain, Fractured Sleep"

article addresses how TBI impacts sleep; importance of connecting Sleep disorders & TBI.
http://www.sleepreviewmag.com/issues...2007-11_01.asp

Sleep problems can exacerbate other TBI symptoms-such as headaches, emotional & cognitive functions.

posted some other Links @ Sleep Disorder Forum, on TBI & sleep problems.

Default Good Morning Pono

Hi Pono thanks for the link. This issue came up when I wrote up a personal assessment on the symptoms I'm dealing with in regards to Tbi/PCS.

I've been using a sleep aid my PCP prescribed for about 3 months now and it is helping as I'm not waking up at 3:00 am, but it is not a natural sleep and I'm still dealing with the fatigue issue during the day, but it is a lot better then waking up every 2 hours and then sleeping for 2 hours.

I've also been using the 5-HTP for about a month now and it does seemed to be helping with the mental alertness and clarity.

Sissy has been doing some research in regards to muscle tension in the head and neck, as well as doing light work outs in the swimming pool. I really think Message therapy is part of the solution in regards to muscle tension and bringing the body /mind back to a natural state or relaxation.

Good to see you writing Pono I think this is part of the healing process.

Making some progress and becoming more focused.

Hope you are doing better.

Take Care Jeffn

Jeffn...
good to hear from you, that you're doing better -progressing, and that you found this article interesting. Sleep disorders can be, and have been a BIG problem for me. I'm trying to learn more esp. about those occuring after TBI.

I'm dealing w/ so many issues--TBI, other med problems, and personal stuff.
too much to get into... will try write more soon (agree that does have theraputic value)
Now have to tend to invalid father and get ready for home health nurse visit

yesterday appt w/ neuro --addressed several issues-- pain , sleep, other problems, disorders--
CATAPLEXY- Referring to "drop attacks" occurin since I was hit by car seems "official" DX. -- its usually SX connected to Narcolepsy-- learned can occur after TBI...
