Default doctors

I received a concussion about 3 months ago and have been diagnosed with post concussion syndrome by a GP and a psychiatrist. They both suggested that I should just "wait it out" for awhile before I see any others doctors, i.e. a neurologist. I mainly suffer from sleep problems (early morning awakenings / light sleep) and a weird sort of eye fog that comes in early at night - my eyes get tired and focusing them feels different.

I was wondering at what point should I see a neurologist about all this. I've heard 6 months is usually a good marker, but if there is some sort of medication that would help now I wouldn't see the point in waiting. This whole PCS thing sure sucks - it's hard to know when to stop looking for answers and when to just accept that it is what it is.

Thanks and to all those suffering from this be strong.
