Default Possible PCS?

About 10 months ago, I stoop up and hit the base of my skull against a metal bar. Although I have had a couple certain concussions in the past, this time I did not lose consciousness or vomit and continued with the workout I was doing in the weight room at the time. Ever since, I have never felt nauseated, but I have felt dazed, had a 24/7 light tension-type headache originating from the cervical region to some areas of my face, and I have felt drowsy. In some ways, it feels like I just hit my head 5 minutes ago. My neurologist has speculated that its a skeleto-muscular issue. I have had lots of physical therapy, a couple sessions of acupuncture, medications (nortriptylin, gabapentin, indomethacin), and trigger point injection with nothing helping terribly much.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I was very active before the injury and it has made me into a complete couch potato for fear that I will make things worse. Although I continue to perform well in school and neurological exams come up clean, I feel like my thoughts are a bit slow and cloudy.

sorry to hear about your injury and the persisting problems you are having --
which do sound familar and could be PCS

wish i could share more, but my own 'issues' w/ recent concussion make it very hard to write

perhaps others will add their experiences, thoughts, etc.

good luck

I wouldn't worry about whether or not this is PCS you are experiencing. It does sound to me like a neck issue but I'm not a doctor, just giong on other stories I've heard. Did you suffer any actual concussive symptoms at the time like confusion or dizziness?

Thanks pono, I appreciate it. I hope that your condition improves. I will have you in my thoughts.

Thanks for your response as well, Benjamin. I did not have nausea, classic diziness, or loss of consciousness. However, I have had a feeling that I find difficult to put into words, like something in my head just feels "off" or "not right" is the best way I can put it from the first second after injury, and it is not just the pain. Those sensations and drowsiness are what have been making me think about PCS. My neurologist was very confident that it was a neck injury at first, but most recently stated that he did not know anymore. I had clean CT, mRI, and x-rays as well. But I suppose you are right that worrying about it being PCS does no good. I could probably think about this for an eternity and never come to any conclusions.
