I find it almost alarming the contrast in how I can feel before/ after a meal. Before I'll feel incredibly tired with a dull headache and don't feel like doing anything but after I eat its a complete 180 - I get some energy, headache lessens and I feel up to a lot of activities. I'm almost wondering if (PCS related or not) my body is not properly regulating blood sugar.
I eat very healthy; plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats (walnuts, salmon etc.), lean protein, and usually will not go longer than ~3 hours without eating (ie a snack or meal). Today I found myself incredibly tired, dull headache and almost considered going to bed for the night but instead I had a small meal (around 6:30pm, just over 2 hrs since my last snack) and was full of energy again. I don't drink caffeine products and have a healthy BMI (on the high end of normal). Has anyone else experienced this? Could something else besides PCS be going on here? Note- this doesn't happen all the time, but I would say more often than not

Blood sugar regulation can get messed up but your 3 hours between meals should overcome this. A 5 hour glucose tolerance test may be worthwhile. Don't neglect the brain healthy fats in red meat.
Oddly, I am just the opposite. I need a snack to go to sleep. Complex carb and protein do it best for me. Peanut butter on whole wheat is my best. Are you taking any supplements ? They can be integral to your body balancing other hormones, etc.

I recently cut out red meat as my cholesterol was surprisingly high (and I'm only 24 yr old and healthy body weight :S). I was not aware there were "brain healthy fats" in red meats.
I'm taking vitamin D, Vitamin b12 and omega 3. I will mention it to my GP at my next visit to see if he has further insight and could possibly order glucose tolerance test

How high was your cholesterol ?
Take the niacin and some garlic to help with cholesterol. If you are healthy otherwise, cholesterol is not a big risk. If your blood pressure and blood sugar levels are good, you can live a long life with high cholesterol. My mother's is in the high 200's and she is 87. Mine has been 244 for over a decade and my heart tests strong. Stay away from statin drugs. They are bad for brains. You need the B-50 complex for the rest of the B vitamins.
