Default Do you get new symptoms?

I do not know if I am having new symptoms or simply discovering the ones I have missed in the interim. I am noticing a lot of memory/concentration/thinking issues as well as reading/typing issues. I know I have not done much reading or typing so perhaps I am discovering these for the first time, but the general rule of thumb is that every function is supposed to get better with time not worse, right? I am wondering if your brain can get rusty from the lack of use though. If so, how do you differentiate?

It is not uncommon for a 'new' symptom to appear when previous symptoms improve. I am not sure whether this is due to it being a new symptom or more likely that symptom becomes a focus and thus more noticeable. Either way, it is not something to get focused on, it will only make it worse.

please someone correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand and what I experience with my concussion was that the brain may suffer and continue to show new symptoms for several months due to inflammation but that is not in call cases. a few months in I lost my ability to type and several months later I was typing 100 wpm again. I was so scared when it first happened but it went away don't ask how or why I don't know

New symptoms may manifest during the first 6 to 8 weeks. This is due to the brain 'giving up' on trying to heal and work with damaged areas. Those areas may have some cell death resulting in new symptoms.

Since I am 9 months post, these are not new symptoms, but old symptoms being discovered/recognized?

Most likely new or existing symptoms being recognized. Some may be due to reading about others with these symptoms and realizing "Duh,,, I have that symptom." Often, it is a result of anxiety causing a focus on the symptom.

NT can be problematic in that is allows and even somewhat encourages people to analyze every little sign and symptom. This results in people making too much of every little detail of their life.
