Default Leftovers

I have, what I call "The leftovers." Having my trigeminal cut
after failed MVD left me with Anesthesia Delorosa. Although this leaves me with total numbness on the Left side, I am in pain much of the time. There is no getting away from it. Doctor said because my eye was not producing moisture He needed to put plugs in my eye .
until it started producing moisture on it's own. On the left side my nostril is also dry and I am constantly applying nose Gels. My ear on that side is always causing ear infections so Doc put a tube in. I have been on Methedone and Oxycontin. I got weened off these two narcotics and don't ever want to use them again. The side effects can be a big problem and you don't even realize it.
I had a major surgery ( my stomach) about three yrs. ago. Because of the methadone I stopped breathing twice.
After two weeks in the hospital, I got to go home.
When I came home I was not alone. I came down with Influenza B. and had oxygen , because it hit my lungs.
I also contracted MRSA. Lucky me, These were leftovers
from the hospital. Because of the flu, I didn't walk around much, as I felt like a truck hit me and guess what? I got a bloodclot in my leg, developed pneumonia as well.
Meanwhile I was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome and have been on requip ever since. Then came acid reflux disease. I fell and broke my pelvis and for some reason my R leg became shorter than the other and now I have to walk with a cane. This is all my leftovers. What is your leftovers? Bless, Doodle bug7

Default You're not totally on your own...

Hi, I was sorry to read your post, you certainly have a lot on your plate as the saying goes. I do have a few leftovers myself, lucky for me not as many as yourself. Post MVD my hearing never returned. My understanding is that during the operation they 'monitor electrical signals from the auditory nerve in order to prevent hearing loss' - being a relatively rare complication. Well I don't know what went wrong with me but I was one of the small percentage that this happened to. Also, since the MVD I have tinnutis which kinda drives me pretty mad at times, and that's never gone away either. I was also recently diagnosed with AD, even tho sometimes they say it is dysesthesia, all I know is that it isn't pretty! The MVD didn't fix me up but it did make an improvement so all of this is not exactly a matter of one step forward two steps back, but it can feel like it sometimes. It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out, it's the pebble in your shoe............Muhammad Ali.

Default What is white noise?

Do you suffer from "White noise?" It gets so loud sometimes I turn the T.V. up. One of my Doctors said to just drown it out with other sounds. Of course it is on the surgery side of my head. I can even put my finger in my ear but the white noise is just as loud. When I turn the volume up on the T.V. or radio, it sounds like a bar and grill joint. he he

Default white noise

YES! I know exactly what you are talking about, at times it can really drive me over the edge and it gets me down. Other times its not so bad, almost seems bearable!
