I'm glad to hear that you teeth don't hurt with the increase in your meds, although that does seem quite a jump, I usually increased the carb by 200mg each time, if only for 4/5 days then another increase. Only because it does whack you and sends you into a bit of a tailspin unfortunately, which you've figured! MVD (microvascular decompression) is a procedure that is offered to TN sufferers very often to relieve the artery or vein that compresses the nerve root (which may or may not show up in an MRI) at the point that it leaves the brain. Medication can often offer relief but can also be ineffective, or the side effects can be unbearable. The procedure involves opening the skull where the nerve is exposed, and inserting a sponge between the vessel and nerve that are causing the pain.
