Default lyrica oral help

I need to know from anyone that has taken Lyrica Pregabalin, if they had problems with kidneys, urinary tract etc? My doctor told me that this wasn't going to hurt my kidneys etc but I only have one kidney that works and also have had a urinary tract infection for weeks now. Does anyone know if this is a possibility? Also, I am only on 50 mg once or twice a day. How do I get off of it? I really don't like the way it makes me feel.. Help.. I appreciate any help needed. I tried Neurotin and hated the way that made me feel but this is making my panic attacks worse.. thanks

Hmm... I understand your skepticism about Lyrica for sure!! But I can't say anything to ease your worries. I am on Lyrica too for tendonitis and I've also been on Neurontin. I feel super dopey from both of those so I can relate in that respect. For a while I tried amitriptyline... can't remember how I did w/ that one...
Can you get another medical professional's opinion? Also- have you tried a search for Lyrica in the posts and/ or the threads here on this bulletin board?
hope you get your answers soon! good luck!!!

Here is a link to Pfizer's patient information for Lyrica.... about 3/4 way down on page 2 there is a section that says WHO SHOULD NOT TAKE LYRICA... one part says to tell your doctor if you have Kidney Problems or are on Kidney Dialysis....

http://www.pfizer.com/files/products/ppi_lyrica.pdf

The patient information section doesn't give any more information about how Lyrica affects kidneys...but if there seems to be something or they wouldn't have the sentence about letting your doctor know.

Here is the prescribing information for medical professionals....
https://www.pfizerpro.com/product_info/lyrica_pi_warnings.jsp

I wish you the best... I'm off to read... i've been on Lyrica for a while....

Lyrica caused increased anxiety with me and I mean really increased it. There is a note in the manufacturers website, the part for medical professionals, where they discuss the incidence of anxiety and depression being caused by the drug during their trials.

Call your doctor and tell him you want to get off of it and he should be able to give you instructions. There are a lot of other meds you can try. Are you seeing a neuro?

Default Lyrica

Hi
I have been on Lyrica for over a year now with no problems.I am also taking 22 other meds everday, one being neurontin. If you have ever been on narcotics
Methodone or oxycontin, being on Lyrica is a breeze to me.
I can understand your concern about the kidney. Have you just sat down with your Doctor and explained your apprehensiveness about the kidney. Try to discuss this with him. if he wouldn't shine some light on this for you, I would definetly get another opinion. This is nothing to play around with, that for sure.
Take care and I hope you find an answer soon.

Default Lyrical Oral damaged reading/math skills

Has anyone else noticed after using Lyrica Oral your simple reading and math skills are not the same anymore? I have trouble now reading books. I can't focus on the page. Or add up columns of numbers very well.
