Hi folks.
I have had bilateral facial discomfort for over a year, was recently told by an Occ Health doctor that i had TN. However i went to see a Neurosurgeon who specialises in TN and he ruled this out which obviously i was somewhat relieved about. My symptoms are a slightly cold and numb feeling on my cheeks and jaw, my tongue tingles and feels numb on and off through the day. The symptoms fluctauate in intensity through the day. Sometimes it is more of a burning sensation and different parts of my face flare up at different times so it is not painfull all of the time. It definately seems trigeminal because of where the pain is. Am having a contrast MRI done. Had a non-contrast MRI a year ago which was normal. Symptoms get worse with stress and impact exercise though walking and using a cross trainer are fine. From what i read i suppose my symptoms are best described as parasthesia. Tried Carbamazepine and Lyrica with no results. I have Type 2 Diabetes but this is diet controlled and well controlled. Anyone got any thoughts on what could be causing this, any further tests i could request. I wish you all a pain free day. |
