Default Dental Malpractice and MVD

My dad has Atypical Trigeminal Neuralgia which we believe was caused by an extraction of five teeth without stitches.

Our neurosurgeon wants to pursue with MVD, despite lack of suggestive evidence through MRIs and such. But what I'm thinking is if dental malpractice is the cause of his disorder, wouldn't that exclude him as a candidate for MVD surgery?

According to this page** he should not have MVD:
Quote:
The aim of microvascular decompression surgery is to alleviate neurovascular compression upon the trigeminal nerve root and therefore is a surgery which is used to treat trigeminal neuralgia which was not caused by dental trauma.
What are you thoughts and experience on this matter?

I would think it would not be a good idea to have mvd in that situation. Very well could make the pain worse possibly anesthesia delorosa and if you scroll down threw the posts here you will be able to find many with MVD in the title of threads /posts , so you can get a view of what others shared . I cant share first hand as I have not had one and it is not an option for me. Perhaps the neuro consider a PNS ???? or You ask if there are other options .
I replied to you on the dental thread also. but then seen this .
PEACE
