Default Newrologist

Hello, I had trigiminal neuralgia and occipital about 12 years ago along with some other things going on, I was on tegretol and then neurontin, and when I became pregnant I stopped the meds immediately and the symptoms left anyway. Anyway about a few years ago I started having shocks to my face but they were manageable, as well as muscle spasms and balance problems (again). I managed but a few weeks ago the occipital neuralgia came back bad, you know the bad where it feels like someone is knifing your head and attaching lightning to it. My reg doc put me on gabapentin, and told me to see a neurologist. In the meantime my left eye went blind (just for a few seconds) and the eye doctor didn't find anything wrong, that something might be pushing against it. When I saw the new neurologist she didn't examine me, not even to take my blood pressure or anything. She just said stay on the med and to have a blood test. She said we would wait and see on the mri. Have any of you been to a neurologist who didnt even examine you?

She is a neurologist and the brain is going to tell her the first steps to your diagnosis. The eye thing is a little bothersome. I dont know your age, but she has to be wondering about MS or any other problem in your brain. Once she knows there is nothing there. I would assume the exam will continue. Some exams are based on electronic imaging as that first step.
