I just started with a compounded cream that I put all around my ear and a tiny bit in my cheek and down my jaw. It has Gabapentin, Lidocaine and Capacian.
I think I notice a teeny bit of improvement. Really too early to tell, but at least I feel a wee bit hopeful. Something to ask your doc about, if you haven't already. I had to go off my second bp med due to a complication, but still am on 4x my usual dosage. My b pressure went nuts when the ATN started. My BP is a little high and I see the cardiologist soon to re-evaluate. It seems this is going to be something I will need to monitor very often. |
Good news about the cream. I use one for my neck and it seems to me that some of the meds appear to accumulate or have some kind of additive effect. The longer I use it, the better the relief. It may be my imagination, I don't know, but the tetracaine in it is really good stuff. The capsacin in the cream should do that as well. It takes awhile to build up, but the relief is supposed to improve with use. Best wishes and low pain, ee

Pain on left side of face.
Hi,
Please excuse me if this is on another thread but I am very new to this site. Ever since I had Bells Palsy in 2005, I have had this terrible discomfort on the left side of my face. It feels as though it is swollen. It is very uncomfortable. The only way to relieve it is be laying down on that side. I also suffer with tinnitus which to me does not help? If anyone, can help, I would appreciate it. I will try and see the doctor again but to be honest with my doctor I am not very hopeful. Thanks in anticipation. |
Karpaulen,
I'm not a medical professional and don't have any personal experience at all with Your condition. You might want to ask your doctor if a compounded cream with numbing agents might be of help. My pharmacist and doctor spoke and created something specific for my condition related to nerve pain. Best wishes for relief for your discomfort. |
