I know I have to be patient because I have a lot of healing to been done. I am just so anxious to get off meds all together. My doctor is one of the best in the country for 2013-14. The University of Iowa Neurosurgery dept. is one of the top in the country. I'm praying and semi-confident my pain will be gone within 8 weeks. You are right Ken, if this works it will all be worth it. If it doesn't work I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I need prayers that the pain will be gone and the surgery be a success. I will get back to everyone when I know.
I am always surprised there are so many out there that have no idea what this disease does to you. With no visible symptoms a lot of people don't understand how it really feels.
I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Donna, do not get discouraged because you had to start back on a small dose of medication. About 3 months ago I started having what I call small twinges in my right jaw. Same side my TN was on. They are not very painful but my anxiety level goes through the roof when I have one. I'm thinking oh s**t my TN is coming back. I got back on 400mg of Tegretol a day and now they are gone. I came to the realization that I will probably be on this med for the rest of my life but if this is the worst it gets....I can live with it. I'm still 100% better than I was before I had the MVD surgery.

Keep us updated on how you are coming along...

Ken

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back on here. It's been 8 weeks since my surgery and I took my last dose of medicine 2 days ago. My pain is gone for now, YAY! I am thrilled and happy I had it done. I can't lie and say it was easy by no means. A few weeks ago I was worried that I had made a bad choice. Right now everything keeps improving daily. I still have some tender spots in my head where everything is still finding it's way back to the right spot. These spots are absolutely nothing compared to what I have gotten rid of. I also know I'm 100% better than before I had the MVD surgery done. Hopefully this will help someone trying to decide what to have done. I am so thankful to all of you for helping me. God Bless you all and may by the grace of God we all stay pain free. Or at least be better off than before. It's only been 8 weeks so in 12,14,18 weeks I hope to be on here with continued good news.
