Default Trigeminal Neuralgia Type II (TN2) - burning sensation to hard palate and tongue

A family of mine has Trigeminal Neuralgia Type II (TN2). It's been 2 years.

It first started as aching near last bottom-right molar.

Then after a (necessary) root canal 10 months ago, the aching pain turned into burning sensation in the tongue and hard palate.

Then after wearing new mouth guard / orthotics 4 months ago, the burning sensation lessen but still in the tongue and hard palate.

When she is happy, she has no sensations. When she is lonely or distressed, she has sensations, which create more depression.

We are lucky she does not have TN1, but TN2 is a "slow killer" of quality of life and it's symptoms can be harder to treater.

I was wondering if anyone has healed from this form of TN2 - does not have to identical, but similar in intensity and mouth areas?

I would love some hope for my family member.

Best,
FLH
