Thumbs down Kick in the Backside

Hi All,
I seem to have managed to get a heavy cold, and my sinuses are blocked also.
Trouble is, my face is hurting, not just zapping, but also feels like it is being crushed on both sides.
I am managing to drink fluids, but cant eat anything other than warm soup, as chewing is out of the question right now.

I just fancied a little whinge and moan. I'm trying to keep working through it by keeping busy, but boy it's hard going.

Where's Brad Pitt when I need him?

Hope everyone is keeping well.

Tracy..x

Default where do they get it?

Tracy, when we rewrite the book on tn, we'll strike out all the stuff that has been written and rewritten and copied and circulated that JUST AIN'T SO. I'm sure it does you a lot of good to read that when a person has bilateral tn "both sides don't hurt at the same time". It would only be annoying if it didn't matter to patients and their doctors that tn literature is so outdated and inaccurate. That has repercussions on real people, poor diagnosis, that feeling of frustration you get when you tell the doctor what hurts and how and the doctor just looks at you like you're crazy.

And here's a bushel of sympathy from another sufferer with a horrid cold that only aggravates tn. Bet there are a lot of us out here at this time of the year - so go have a nice hot cup of tea/cocoa/hot toddy or whatever does the trick - hugs, Nancy

Hi, Tracy. It's good to meet you.

Yes, with sinus/allergies, and certainly infection, I have a much more difficult time. After having 4 complicated sinus sugergies (the source of my TN), I can so relate.

One thing that helps ease some of the pressure (not immediate, though) is to use saline spray for my sinuses. It helps the flow and is a natural decongestant.

Another thing that helps me is there is an nasal steriod (I can't remember the name. I'm sorry) that actually helps to shrink the sinuses pretty quickly. That helps me alot as well because in shrinking the sinus, it's ebbing some of the pressure and irritation.

Just know that I understand. I hope you find some relief soon.

KD

Hi Girls,
Thank you for the replies.
I managed to sleep right through the night last night, (something I never do)
I think, I was so dosed up on cold remedies I knocked myself out!

I've been up an hour and already I have been zapped more than the normal breakthrough that I have during a normal day, most of the zaps are in and around my eyes , guess that's to do with the sinus problem.
I've been using sinus decongestant, which does help unblock my nose, so at least I can breath now, but I feel overall like a bus hit me.

I'm going to spend the day on the sofa with a hotwater bottle, a few DVD's and a lemsip.

Love to all
Tracy..x

Thumbs up

Tracy,

I've been fighting a cronic and stubborn sinus infection for over a month, so I really know how you're feeling! I too, have bilateral TN and with this cronic think I've got know, I've gotten jolts on both sides. Its only minor breakthrough with the meds I'm on, but no sooner the jabs hit me, repeatedly twice on the left side, the right hit with a jab and then a burner. Me and my funky(but accurate descriptions)!

Anyway, wrap up, watch Brad Pitt or several other equivalents, and keep the warm fluids going!

Big hugs to you! E!

I think we should start a new thread and elect Nancy as our spokesperson to NIH, PUB med, etc...just so everyone will update their info and get on the same page!!!

Go Nancy

Our Nancy, is going to be ruler of the universe one day!
I tell you god help the usless doctors and dentists when she does rule

I have been taking sinus meds, which have helped unblock my nose, but the sinus pain is still there and so are the zaps on both sides.
I'm glad you mentioned that both your sides act up together, I was begining to think it was just me!
Yesterday, I took ot easy, sat with my feet up, Niki (Fizzbw) phoned me and we had a nice long chat which really cheered me up (Thanks Niki) the only thing I did yesterday was cook tea and look after my sons dog (who kept trying to demolish the house)

Today I have TNA things to do, so time to shrug off the cold and get on with it.

Hope your sinus infection clears soon, it's bloomin awful to put up with.

Love Tracy x

Glad to hear the fog is lifting and you are doing better. I'm getting somewhat better, but a deformed septum is causing this bad environment that keeps me in this state. I need to get it fixed so other remidies will work. I'm taking 4000mg a day of antibiotics and its about to kill my stomach. As if TN drugs aren't bad enough!!!!!

Anyway, I'm still vertical and trying to get on with things. Thanks for the good wishes and still lie low for awhile so things don't turn in the wrong direction for you.

And no, its not just you. I get simultaneous stuff all the time. But ultimately, I haven't had it really bad on both sides at once. I hope it never does go there, but who knows. At this point, I continue to expect the unexpected. Gosh, I just keep rambling. Sorry!

Anyway, till next time!
Big hugs and love back to you, E!!!

Tell Niki "Hi" if you chat again!
Take care

Yayyyyyyyyyy!!
Catherine, it's so good to see your name again

My sinus problem is clearing a little now, although I am still being zapped badly in my left ear, I'm sure my face has an inbuilt calender, it seems to know when it is October and time to act up badly.

Have a nice weekend Catherine.

Love Tracy..x
