Default Bell's palsy, tn, tmj

Hello all,

I am new to the forum here is my story I am a long time bell's palsy sufferer i have had bp since the 30th may 2006 i am coming up to 2 years with it now, i have since got tn and tmj as a result of it i had damage to the 5th and 7th cranial nerve i had such a severe case that they weren't sure if they had diagnosed me with bp instead of Ramseys hunt syndrome! there were no known signs of rhs but they still think to this day that it is! for a long time the docs couldn't work out why i had such severe pain because bp doesn't usually cause such chronic pain. Then they worked out that it was tn and tmj that is causing the chronic pain! i have tried alot of pain killers tegretol, amitriptyline, capadex, panadeine forte and now i am on neurontin i have been taking it for 5 days now and still dont seem to be getting releif from it i am taking the capadex in between doses but it makes me drowsy so i have tried advil instead but the only problem with the ibuprofen is that i have irritable bowel syndrome too so it just causes me more grief. I have also been on sickness allowance from the goverment for nearly 2 years and now that my condition has been diagnosed as permanent i am now applying for disability pension because i am unable to work due to the pain and my ear is damaged from the bp and i cant tolerate alot of noise i also have facial weakness, there are also days where i cant even get out of bed because the pain is so bad which makes me very unreliable to work so it is lucky that i am a hairdresser and can do a few hours from home!

i would love any advice and sugesstions on anything i could take along with the neurontin?????? and also how long will it take for the neurontin to start working?

Melina

I would give myself at the least 3 to 4 weeks for body to adjust to the neurontin medication and dosage. without adding another med to the mix. but I wish others that are on meds would post what they think. I have been on all the meds but not on any for about 5 years ... have a neuro stimulator implanted .
so hopefully others will come by and post ideas. I posted to you on your other thread here. low pain for you.
Peace BMW
