Smile Anyone have a successful experience with MVD after several destructive procedures?

My mom, aged 75, is about to undergo MVD. She's had 3 radiofrequencies and 2 gamma knives and currently takes 1200mg tegretol, 600mg trileptal and 100 mg lamictal daily. She has severe and constant breakthrough pain. I'm hoping the MVD works but have read that is not always successful. Any extra info would be appreciated.

Default MVD after Gamma Knife

I am about to have my second MVD. I had the Gamma Knife done in February of this year and the MVD done in May. The MVD was not successful, and they are going to repeat it on Nov. 13th. I hope your Mom has a good outcome the first time. I am told by my surgeon that normally the MVD works. My case has been a stubborn one since day one. Sheila

Default unfortunate turn of events

I hope your mvd went well this time.
My mom's did not work although doc moved vein and artery out of the way. the tnerve was very damaged and swollen following gamma. She ended with a stroke following the artery move and is now in rehab. It is a tough recovery.
Good luck to you.
