I have pins and needles all the time but in diffrent area not on my forehead.
I know a.d. is supose to be a numb feeling and it is but I also have a tight tugging pinch... pins and needles when I get one of my head aches it is like there is a needle stabbing into my eyeball on that side. or like a hot firey eletrical poker jabbing at me.and twisting tight tighter it is hard to explain how all the symptoms feel when they mix and match

The area is what I am not sure on AND I hope maybe someone else that has t.n in upper area can help..
I WOULD BRING IT UP TO YOUR DOCTOR and neuro and see what they think and what may be done to help relieve this . really just dont let yourself think it is t.n. make sure ...Ask or at least metion it to neuro /doc and have it put on record so it is in your history when you first noticed this and that you brought it up.
I am sorry I wasnt much help but I got hugs for ya
and keeping you in my thoughts always Melina. low pain and healing vibs to you. hang in and keep us posted. And know your not alone
PEACE
BMW

Hi Melina and BMW,

I don't really get pins and needles but I've heard others describe some of their pain that way. I'm in limbo here as I've recently been told I have ON as well as TN. I think some of the head and forehead pain I've experienced may be from ON and I'm still trying to sort this all out so I'm really not in a good position to answer your question. Hopefully someone with a less confusing dx will come along and add to what I've said. But I have consistenly experienced paresthesia from the onset of the conditon. Now, its pretty much 24/7.
Take care, ellena

I am taking 2100 mg neurontin and 25 mg topomax for my pins and needles painful sensation in my face. Problem is I live in a fog. My memory is shot. Life is such a struggle trying to complete everyday tasks with half a mind. If I could only have my life back..... off of the drugs. Problem is the pain would be unbearable. Had gamma knife and a Micro
vascular decompression surgery. Made it worse. Doctors seem to blow me off.

Yes EE03 I am not sure on area.. forehead... I know trigeminal nerve has upper and lower but upper I always thought upper was eye , ear. front back of of ear area. the nose sometimes.I usualy dont think about upper because I have lower one side but I do chat with lots of others some with both side some with upper. usualy I hear of eye /ear pain with upper. also have heard of creepy crawly feeling some have said on top of head like feeling of bug crawling in hair.
I would call doc/neuro AND /or write this down for next visit and so you can make sure its t.n. and not o.n. or another issues all together.
I Hope others come by and share cus any info is going to be helpful to all of us. MELINA I hope you keep us posted and let us know how you are feeling today and I pray your feeling low pain and this new pain has left you for the time being.
Holding you in my thoughts.
PEACE

I think that what I'm finding is where the pain is being triggered from in that the forehead pain that comes with neck pain and pain at the base of my skull. I have no doubt of the TN dx I have and the pain I have. Just trying to sort through the ON stuff and find a way to tell TN from ON in the overlapping area is confusing.

Now, as to creepy crawly feelings, those are also present more than not. I have noticed that they have progressed along with the condition. It does feel as though something is on my skin. It can also feel as though my muscles are cramping, and the pain takes on a boring quality to it. It is really annoying, distracting, and distressing. The one constant, regardless of the origin of the pain, is that it doesn't cross the centerline of my face or scalp.

Hopefully, I've written this a bit clearer today
Ellena

Hi Bmw,
Thankyou for your kind advice once again! i am unfortunately not feeling much better today! i was thinking it has been extra cold here the last week i am wondering whether this is triggering off the new pain as well as the normal pain in both sides of my head behind the ears and on my jaw lines! i have been taking it very easy the last few days just watching movies in bed because that is all i seem to be able to do with this pain! i hate it!!!!! i booked in to see my gp tommorow to see if i can up my dose again or ask her what i can do for the pins and needles! i will let you know what happens!

low pain wishes to all!!!
