Hello Melina and welcome to NeuroTalk.

My DH and I both take Epilum (Sodium valproate) for nerve pain in different areas, but I didn't think it was available in tablet form in the USA. I know that there is however, an Epilum syrup sold as Depakene.

When I started I took one tablet twice daily, then increased to 2 twice daily. Unfortunately I wasn't able to tolerate the 400mgs during the day as I couldn't stay awake. Now I take 200mgs in the mornings and 400 mgs at night.

Good luck with the medication. My husband and I have both had relief ourselves.

I think Epilum is a drug used mostly in the UK and Australia, so that's probably why you haven't heard of it Ellena. It's an anti-epilepitic medication which is commonly prescribed for nerve pain.

I get limited pain relief from mine, but my husband has really noticed an improvement since he went on them.

Good luck Melina, let us know how you get on.

hey Mel.
Are you the new and improved Melina? lol
I havent heard of that med either but i bet we( the u.s.a.) have another name for it here . most people are put on anti seziure meds for t.n. I am allergic to them so cant help with that.
I hope you were able to get a good nights sleeping and wake up without any pain . I hope this med helps you . let us know if you have side affects and keep us posted so we can learn about this med first hand. Like the others here have said ...May God Bless you with pain free days!
PEACE
