Hi Debbie,
I was misdiagnosed with TMJ and saw three dentists who got me to wear various types of orthotics. The one which gave me the most 'vertical' helped the most. Its only now with the TN diagnosis that I can understand why. Both the TMJ and the root of the TN nerve share the same small area, the skull base so if you decopmpress the TMJ you free up space for aberrant blood vessels so decopmpressing them as well. I could be totally wrong here. I'm not a doctor but if you look at anatomy diagrams so you will see what I mean. I am now on Tegretol which helps a little but am consulting with a neurosurgeon later this month to discuss MVD |
