Default Wierd question - TN and sinus?

I have another neurologist appointment on Tuesday, but wanted to check with the group to see if I'm the only one.....

It seems when my ATypical unilateral TN flares my nose starts running non-stop and my sinus (same side as TN) feels like I have a sinus infection. When the pain level drops down to just the annoying toothache, the nose stops running and the sinus pain also subsides.

Is this just coincidence? Has anyone else experienced this?

I've already been through one course of antibiotic for my 1st ever "real" sinus infection which was confirmed when they did my MRI back when my TN was being initially treated. I've never had a sinus infection before all of this. I'm hesitant to keep running to my doctor for antibiotics if it's just something that might be TN related. I've mentioned it to my neurologist and she said to go to my primary and didn't seem to think it was related, but like I said it goes away when my pain level drops to 3 level. when it increases t 5 level is when I have to get the tissues and Tylenol.

Thanks.

P.S. I know this is disgusting but thought I would add....when the nose dripping starts it has a REALLY foul odor. The only thing I can think of is dirty diaper smell. When I mention that to other people with sinus infections they look at me like I have 5 heads so I don't think that is normal either.

My TN ALWAYS flares when I have a cold or sinus infection!! I have had a cold for the last two weeks and it is driving me crazy. I can tell you that I do believe the cold has triggered the TN, but I don't know anything about the smell?
