Default bad ER experience and mvd surgery???

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went to ER today University of Colorado Fitzsimmons . Head pain so bad I wanted to die. Was given high dosage of diolated and valium , Soon my head pain returned full force. Told doc, she said she couldn't believe it. Pulled my iv told me to call my neuologist and go home. I told them my pain was not managed, They said well we can try another med, if you'd like. But, there's still time you can call your neuologist. So, I left. They never even gave me a nerological exam, they just checked my vitals. I called my neurologist when I got home. He changed my lyrica, to every 8 hours cause that's when I feel it wearing off. He also told me to write to the hospital administrator about my experience. I called the patient advocate and left a message, she supposed to call me tomorrow. Doc also talked again about surgery. Last thing I want. He also said may change meds to different ones. Second opinion doc told me my choice was severing nerve, like yeah I'd want to do that, not. Does the MVD work. I've read about endoscopic stuff at cedar sinai, anyone have that and was it as sucessful as they candy coat it? Can anyone give me some standards I should expect from an ER or are they hopeless. Rose Medical Center here has always been so good to me, I just thought I'd try the new hospital since it's so close to home. Big mistake. never go there again. Any suggestions?

Rose is a pretty good setting for it. I had to ACDF surgeries and all the diagnosis and such there a few years ago... Some docs to talk to there... dr. mechanic (spelling is wrong I am sure) neurologist and Stephen Shogun for neurosurgery. good folks.

I had a friend that flew to Houston and had his MVD done with a Dr. Rob Parrish a few years back. He is suppose to be excellent as is Dr. Kim Burchiel in Portland, Oregon. Call the TNA for a list of superior MVD doctors.

Ialso use the book and have since DX. My doc is also on the TNA assoc. , But I've been told just cause they are on does not mean anything really.. Just look for someone with experience and lots of surgeries who answers all questions you need answered. Also need tofeel comfortable etc. I am just not ready to take the dive yet. Jen
