Book dHEA & BiPolar Depression

I have suffered from chronic vegetative (atypical) depression for most of my adult life, tho when a doctor changed my antidepressant to Prozac, I turned out to have bipolar (which explained my impulsiveness).

I never could afford SAMe, but after coming across an article about dHEA and bipolar depression, I decided to give it a try. After a week on 25mg/day, I experienced a noticeable response. After several of months, I have discovered that 75mg seems optimal for me..... AND I have reduced my Wellbutrin and Lamictal doses to just one tablet of 100mg for each drug - and this is something I have never achieved before.

I have emerged from decades of social anxiety and agoraphobia symptoms, I am beginning to have COMPANY to my home, am in regular contact with a growing number of people, and am going on outings rather than just dreaming about such activities.

Now, I am not ascribing all the latter to the dHEA - I have no idea about that, no proof one way or another. All I know is that it has helped my depressive spectrum behavioral symptoms a great deal and that my mental and emotional health is better than it has ever been. In my life.

Just wanted to let people know that it is something they may wish to consider trying for a few months when their symptoms are so severe that they are cause for a disability determination.

While MrsD can explain in more detail to anyone with questions of their own, dHEA is a body-produced precursor to the production of hormones including estrogen and testosterone. The bottles you find will will specify "Men's Health" for large doses will give women a few longer coarser facial hairs. It causes a tendency to increase muscle mass. The testosterone production is responsible for a more assertive "masculine" style - which I think is what has helped my ability to integrate into society.

Look for only those produced by a reputable pharaceutical house. You have to be very aware of all possible consequences of this supplement, and then monitor your own condition carefully, perhaps even asking family members and friends for feedback regarding personality changes.

Women who have been told to avoid estrogen obviously need to talk to their doctors first.

dHEA has, in the past, been considered for banning by the FDA. It is not a steroid drug, but in large doses, would be more harmful than helpful.
