I don't know at this time. I'll have to look into this later in the week.

Liposomes started in cosmetics. They are often in high end cosmetics to deliver fatty acids and other things. When fats are incorporated this way, the product is less "greasy" in feel.
Another supplement with a type of liposome delivery is curcumin. LongVida makes one that claims high absorption. http://www.longvida.com/Longvida-SLC...y_ee1e38d.html Here is a link to a Vit C liposome product: http://www.nanoliposomals.com/Liposomal_VITAMIN__C.html What the liposome form does, is allow for better absorption of whatever is incorporated into it. These are micro fat globules usually coated with lecithin which acts as a "membrane". It is much like the oil in mayo incorporated into tiny globules. Now whether this form of delivery of Vitamin C will cure cancer...that is another issue separate from the delivery system. I guess we will have to wait and see if studies can be done to prove this and replicated several times. At this time liposomal products are typically expensive. The cost of the patents and of manufacture, raise the price.

the recipe for "home made" was interesting....I wonder if that form of curcumin might be an option for pancreatic CA?

Here is an interesting interview with a physician who uses high dose Vit C injectable:
http://www.wholefoodsmagazine.com/co...dly-infections Big Pharma's actions are detailed near the end. This part of the article is no surprise to most of us here.

Not doing injectables, but have ordered liposomal Vit C, just to see. I am the resident "guinea pig" before giving to dd who : hashi/hypo/ebv/pcos/gluten and all that. Yes, she is suffering from adrenal fatigue but her doc has done NOTHING for them.
She is on a compounded thyroid - which has done zip. The synthroid/cytomel combo was a bit better. Maybe a new doctor?? |

Let me know how you do on the liposomal C as I am curious about it.
As far as thyroid goes, it seems that supplementation with thyroid hormone is very tricky. Many people seem to have problems with it. It may have to do with the binders, absorption problems, etc. There is also the factor of conversion in the tissues. Sometimes that fails. T3 has a very short half life, and using it orally can be problematic. There are some doctors who will order T3 compounded into a delayed release form for that reason. Thyroid products need to be taken on an empty stomach as food will impair its absorption. People with gluten intolerance may not be absorbing zinc and selenium well from oral supplements or food. These are cofactors in the conversion process of T4 to T3 in the tissues. I wonder if ribose might help with the energy issues. I know it works very well for me. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ghlight=ribose I buy the powder at Puritan's now (for price considerations) and use about 3/4 of a scoop at night. It tends to help me with stamina (which now that I am OLD...seems to be a bigger problem than when I was younger ) Quote:

I would be more than happy too, MrsD! You have made so many useful suggestions for us - I cannot wait to be helpful to YOU.
Seems we take care of one issue, get it under control, and something else materializes. She is a constant work in progress. I don't like the Epstein-Barr virus, for it seems to come back when she is very stressed. She is easily fatigued. She seems to have improved the pcos - Chiral Balance? - but I fear she may have anemia? I try to scope all of the thyroid sites to see which blood tests I can order for her to hand to a new doctor. We will be going to one that believes in more natural thyroid that she can raise/lower herself. Her present compounded thyroid med is in CAPSULE formulation. Very difficult. She also takes homeopathic adrenal helpers, tinctures, etc. It's getting quite expensive to have her around! |

She would rather take a capsule, and I didn't feel any different. No complaints. No issues with them at all other than costly!
They do taste funny, tho. I finished them and would rather do esterc or amla or something else. Her thyroid issues and gluten sensitivity is under control. Feeling much better and looking great. We are doing weight loss for the new year together. |
