Default Hypoperfusion Supplements

Does anyone have any supplements that can correct hypoperfusion in the brain? My brain SPECT indicated I have diffuse, nonspecific hypoperfusion.

Question

Low blood flow to the brain can be from blocked blood vessels, or from constriction (caffeine for example).

I think a doctor would be the best source for recommendations here. Alot depends on your general health, age, other medical issues that might be present.

Do you have high blood pressure?

Inflammation of the blood vessels? Have you had a c-reactive protein level measured?

My blood pressure is normal. How do you check for inflamation of the blood vessels? What exactly is a c-reactive protein level measurement? My doctor did not seem to have any idea why I have this hypoperfusion. I am in my mid 20's.

If you are young, this is not common at all.

Low profusion of blood to the brain, sounds pretty serious to me.

There are autoimmune conditions like lupus, and others which
inflame the interior of arteries, and cause blockage of them and hence poor circulation.

Also a condition called Marfan's syndrome which is inherited can affect the walls of the blood vessels. This usually starts with the aorta, which can balloon out, and finally dissect and rupture to a terminal end of the patient.

Here is a rather complex explanation of low blood perfusion, I found today:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intracranial_pressure

I think your question is beyond the capabilities for simple intervention on the net. I think you need to see a good doctor who can explain this to you and find the cause of yours.

This is the keyword I used to find this article:
"causes of low blood perfusion to the brain"

There are other articles that come up on Google with this search, and all of them are medically complex.

Thank you Mrs. D. I have had blood tests done, and my blood looks ok. I asked my general practioner and neurologist about this hypoperfusion and they don't seem concerned about it. I am going to see them next week so I will make more of a stink to address this issue.

One resource you might explore is Dr. D. Amen MD. He specializes in Spect scanning and has some books out that
explain the various scans and how they appear when a brain injury occurs.

Here is his website:
http://www.amenclinics.com/
There are sample scans for various issues in the "gallery" there.

He appears on PBS pledge show commonly too. You might catch his long video that way. On his webpage are sample scans.

I've read one of his books, Change your Brain and Change your Life. He might have some insight for you.
