Default mrs d

i was thinking of addressing this privately, but, i figured i might not be the only one with this issue..... so .....
For many years i would develope an underarm odor that reminded me of cambel's Scotch Broth (barley, i think)....had to use deoderant 24/7 and if it happened anyway, had to use alcohol to get rid of it, soap didnt work.
recently I have increased my P5P to two tabs a day, and fish oil to 6 caps (1800 omega 3).....i am thinking the odor went away before the fish oil increase but i am not sure....was wondering if you had any thoughts on this?
The smell has not come back, even with out using deodorant.....tia

People excrete things in their sweat.

For me it is garlic and onions!

There are over 100 organic compounds eliminated thru the skin.

Some people have amino acid disruptions too...some genetic and that can affect body odor.

I occasionally do isopropyl alcohol on the arm pits when the onion thing gets too potent. That seems to help. I used alot of garlic and onions on vacation.. this year, cooking more from scratch.

I did notice after menopause there is a distinct change in body odor, most of it beneficial IMO for me. That may be hormone driven as well.

Thiamine B1 is a common cause of odors..of a yeasty nature.
But the Benfotiamine version does not do this for me at at least.

You know, the "metabolic" part, amino acid ratios, etc, are so complex even doctors don't understand them! It takes a specialist to evaluate testing for that.

If you get rid of sugar, and mean that type of metabolic change, then that would different. Diabetics tend to have a fruity odor about them, and that would leave if diet were more tightly controlled.

This is all I could find of a technical nature:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_odor

The B complex typically is sited for odor changes, and I think that is mostly because of thiamine.
Choline has been implicated in very high doses to cause a "fishy" odor in some people.
