Default Green Tea

I've heard alot about the benefits of green tea. I really don't like the taste of it and don't want to use artificial sweetners anymore than I absolutely have to. Is the hype about its benefits really true? Is there a way to consume it without drinking it? What's the best way to get the maximum benefit from it?

Here is the article I was reading about it:

http://chinesefood.about.com/library.../aa011400a.htm

I found this. Is it as beneficial as drinking the tea?

I have used honey in it (before I cut out fructose).

Also a slice of candied ginger in it is very nice too.
Have you tried stevia? Some people believe stevia is safer.

You can get used to it without a sweetener, just don't steep so long..as the tannins get stronger with the longer steep.

There are many extracts of it to take orally. Puritan's is having their mega sale right now, buy one get 2 free. I just bought a new supply of ribose and saved alot! (members there get emails for further savings...until July 3rd, $5.00 off and free shipping too!)

There are other antioxidants too as well. I have good results with grapeseed extract.

I add a bit of honey & lemon.
I need to get my stevia out of the back of the cabinet and start using it again too.

I like green tea and have never used sweetener in my teas. Now Celestial Seasonings Green Tea is really white tea, and I do not like it at all.

I am on a candida diet and use Stevia every day with no issues. I'm used to it now, took a few days, but giving up the other sweeteners was a good thing for me.

Today I had my first cup of green tea...

I was hoping it would help me with water retention and sleep... but, Im feeling dizzy and nausea... Has anybody out there experienced this ?? or, is it anything else that has nothing to do with the tea ?

Thanks !

-------------------------- EDIT

Ouch... I just read it has lots of caffeine and of course, that causes (among some other things) nausea... hehe oh no.

Green tea like everything else comes in different quaility. The cheap tea bags you might find in the supermarket aren't very good. Always best to go for the loose tea leaves. There is also a wide range of leaves used in making the tea. One of the best is Sencha which is very popular in Japan.
