You really do need to know if your anemia is due to deficiencies in iron, b12, folate or b6. If you iron stores are ok, taking an iron supplement will not help. Has your doc checked for this yet? And if so, get the results so you know what the numbers are. If not, get him/her to do so.

Default Iron -

you do not want to overdo on. Post menopausal women do not need extra Iron unless a test shows that they do. The same for men.
