Default Herbal Body Cleanses

Anyone recommend any type of body cleanse that can restore ENERGY? I'm so tired of being tired all the time!

I'm doing a candida cleanse right now, which I've tried before without much result (though I may not have stayed with it long enough). I have olive leaf extract but don't take it very often, due to it making me nauseous when I do, and it was the likely cause last time I got puking sick (I rarely throw up), with body aches as well. I'd been taking it for a few days straight after going awhile without. I'm not sure whether to take the nausea as a good sign, that it's working, or a bad sign, that it doesn't agree with my body.

I recently heard a rave review of the Hulda Clark herbal parasite cleanse, and it got me thinking maybe it's parasites that are sapping my energy. It's gross but they say just about everybody has parasites living inside them. The Clark cleanse consists of black walnut hull, wormwood and cloves. Has anyone here tried it? Recommend a specific brand of product containing these ingredients? Or a different type of cleanse you've done with good results?

Well, I decided I'll get a parasite cleanse with my next order from one of the online stores I get herbal supplements from. If it does me any good, I'll report back. In the meantime, I shall be attempting detoxification with epsom salt, as I read about in this forum. I need to do more research on that though, as I'd never even heard of epsom salt being used to cleanse the body before.

just please do note that epsom salts is used as a detox bath!

If one takes it internally it is an intense laxative and too much can be dangerous.

However, using it as a detox bath (2 cups in a tub of warm water, 15-20 min soak) seems to be generally well tolerated by most people and can be very beneficial in both detox and relaxation, plus it seems to sooth joints and muscles too.

What have you done diet wise? If you haven't already sone so, start with an anti-candid diet plus work up to a pretty high dose of probiotic two weeks before starting a herbal cleanse. This may help minimize the die off effect.

Hi Marlene,

I haven't really done any adjusting to my diet. I know it would make cleansing so much easier; unfortunately, I'm badly addicted to sugar and am not usually good at resisting the craving for it. I at least eat natural sugars more often than fake ones, though I doubt the type matters to the candida monster. My diet overall isn't horrible. I eat a lot of organic stuff. I'm taking a 5 billion CFU probiotic-- is that strong enough? Thanks so much for your advice. I'm going to try harder with the diet! Have you done a successful candida cleanse? If so, what was your strategy, and what do you do for maintenance, to keep it from returning, without having to avoid sugar for the rest of your life?

Well it looks like you hit the nail on the head with the sugar connection and I don't know of any way around it. The first three days are the most difficult in my opinion and then the cravings drop off.

I was and still am a carb lover so stopping pasta and breads were tough. But it can be done. As you know...anti-candida diet means no sugar (both natural and artificial sweeteners), no vinegar, condiments, dried fruits, mushroom, etc. The only fermented products allowed are those that are naturally fermented and still have the live cultures. So get rid of anything that would tempt you and plan your meals, snacks and beverages. (no beer or wine either) Eat whole foods and stay away from milk products.

I worked with a chiropractor to test and clear my system. Took about six weeks and then after that, was able to re-introduce things back in but don't go overboard.

I would also increase the probiotic to at least 40 B. Work up to it slowly.
