Default Water and Salt Intake During Exercise

Here is an excellent article on water and salt intake. No salt paranoia here. It gives better criteria for judging one's needs for salt and water than the conventional medical wisdom which now recommends less than 4-5 grams per day of salt as optimal (they do say that endurance athletes may need more). I have Lyme disease and I am using the salt/vitamin C therapy, so I am taking about 13 grams of salt and 13 grams of vitamin C beyond what I normally use with foods. As long as I keep well hydrated (something I find rather bothersome but absolutely necessary when consuming so much salt), my blood pressure is fine for someone in their late fifties - under 120 systolic and under 80 diastolic.
