Shelley,

Chances are good you were very low, much lower than the first B12 test showed, and that you malabsorb severely.

I hope you will continue with the methylcobalamin and read my website if you haven't already. It won't take long to read, but the basics it discusses are very important for you to understand. It is crucial that you get B12 stores up good and super strong, and keep them strong.

Pantethine

Pantethine is a coenzyme. From what I can remember in chemistry class, coenzymes speed up reactions of other chemicals, but do not do what the main chemicals do. So, left by it self it does nothing. It needs to be with other chemicals to apply its speed of reaction influence. But then, its inflence is not universal either. Other chemicals have to be of a specific group for a coenzyme to do its work.

Note that its inclusion in supplements is only in trace amounts, as in 200 mg. So, my hunch is that, when people say that pentathine works in lowering cholesterol, it is always with other chemicals, and not by itself. For more information, do a google search on "define:coenzyme" (omit quotations). For those who understand chemistry try "define:coenzyme A".
