I thought I had meralgia paresthetica back in 2006. Even had a neuro tell me that on examination that was probably what it was...until I started having tingling in the lower legs, and other symptoms (visual) that got diagnosed as symptoms of multiple sclerosis.

Hopefully all you have is meralgia paresthetica.
