Meralgia Paresthetica, this is what I suffer with daily.
Water exercise, and spin classes, along with Calcium/Vitamin D supplement. The only thing is I MUST exercise at least 6 days a week to get any temporary relief from the pain in my thighs and lower legs. This way I don't have to rely on the pain pills prescribed for me. |

If you are having pain in your LOWER legs, it is NOT from Meralgia Paresthetica. MP involves the LFCN ( lateral femoral cutaneous nerve) and does not extend below the knees. While MP can be bilateral, that is not as common as unilateral. If you have been diagnosed with MP alone and have the same symptoms below the knees as you have in your thighs, I would STRONGLY recommend that you seek further investigation or another doctor. You may be seeking treatment for the wrong diagnosis. |

I thought I had meralgia paresthetica back in 2006. Even had a neuro tell me that on examination that was probably what it was...until I started having tingling in the lower legs, and other symptoms (visual) that got diagnosed as symptoms of multiple sclerosis.
Hopefully all you have is meralgia paresthetica.
