Default b 12/ Methyl Folate combo questions

Hey guys I appreciate anyone who can help me with these questions!

A while back I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and have been on active treatment for it for some while. I never used much pharm grade antibiotics just anti microbial herbs i.e cowden protocol, and systematic support things. I already had gut issues so did not want to wreck havoc on my gut any worse.

I around this time also started taking methyl b12 to heal and prevent any nerve issues from the disease, I at first got injections weekly then just kept up with using sublingual b12. The sublingual b12 I used was 5000mcg and I always took it on an empty stomach at least 20 minutes before eating anything. After about 20 minutes of taking the Methyl B12 I would also take Methyl Folate at 1600-3000mcg. I was tested heterozygous for the MTHFR mutation as well. I cut out all "folic acid" containing supplements and foods around that time as well, only taking in natural folate sources or methyl folate.

After some amount of time I also started in adeno b12 and took it with the methyl b12 and the combination works great. The only issue is I do not take a b complex. The only other b vitamin I take in is b2 to compensate for any loss from higher dose methyl folate, from my understanding it depletes b2 absorption in higher doses. I wanted to know if any of the people here could clarify is it important to take the other b vitamins along with the methyl/adeno b12, and methyl folate? I cannot find any literature stating it depletes other b vitamin groups given you have a good diet that supports these other vitamins in minerals, mine does this quite well.

The reason I don't take the other b vitamins is because I heard from several sources that it could potentially feed certain infections and I am already having a hard enough time with it. I also do not want to take vitamin b 6 even in lower doses because I heard a lot of toxic reports with the synthetic versions. Usually in much higher doses but it still seemed to happen with supplementation over a longer period of time. P 5 P is also not a natural source so I just decided to take in about 3mg a day from things like nuts, bananas, eggs, etc. So is there any worthwhile reason I should take the other b vitamins as well?

Another sub question I had was in terms of quality in methyl b12 supplements. In my experience I noticed a lot of differences judging by the brand name, for instance Country life b12 which I use now disintegrates far more quickly then Jarrows B 12 which I used before. Now I love country life because it has less preservatives and replaces maltodextrin and mannitol with just Dextrin and fewer preservatives over all. I am sensitive to MSG so try to consume as little preservatives as I can. Compared to the Jarrows brand name I don't know if the Country Life b12 is really being absorbed as well though. Does anyone notice any difference between brand names or ones that are felt more or less effective for their own case?

As far as diet I eat a paleo style diet and am gluten/grain free, however I also eat things like goat dairy, sweet potatoes, russets, etc.. I just want the extra calories so add it in. I am writing a lot of information here but want to be pretty specific with my questions and give a good background first. I feel if anyone wanted to point out any other remarks, or had questions that it would be worth while to also post other things as a first.

Thanks for any help!

Todd
