I'm certainly not dismissing hypertension but I've read over the years, Weston Price Foundation's "take" on hyperTension. I believe, many people are pushed on BP drugs when in doc's office, they are white coat and scared to death and get on the drugs....there is so much we need to know on controlling our health issues.

I use sea salt as I know we do need salts but do not overdose....processed foods are very salted, so one needs to watch that...when I do buy cans of anything, try to make sure low sodium as best I can find.

I agree that you have to watch salt content very carefully. I particularly like rye bread, but the brand I use has 150 mg of sodium per slice, so I don’t have sandwiches very often. I try not to use any canned vegetables if at all possible, but when I did I would drain off the liquid after opening the can and replace it with water. Didn’t taste as good, but it was healthier.

Another interesting thing is that after I got used to a low salt diet, my taste changed and now even foods with average salt content taste very salty to me.
