What are the best vitamins for anxiety, panic attacks, depression? I have it so bad that I can't work or really function in daily life. I'm on an OCD/Antidepressant med for my hypochondria and Kholonopin when I need it but I'm really trying to figure out the best things that can help naturally. Also, any good things for cysts? I have a pineal cyst that in my other post I've gone over but more so for a cyst on my face that got infected and it's still there

Hi Txxxrho
I don't know anything about vitamins in the context of mental health issues. However, a while ago I was a member of a therapy group for people with mood disorders (Major Depressive Disorder in my case). Another member of the group had severe Generalised Anxiety Disorder. She found that a combination of learning mindfulness/meditation methods, breathing exercises and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy was highly effective for her GAD. She refers to those things as her "toolkit". Sometimes I run into her at the local coffee shop - she is completely recovered . It might help if you found a mental health professional who has experience of using those approaches when working with his/her clients. All the best. |

The "toolkit" described by the woman with GAD might be worth looking into. It really sound like a plan. Just knowing you have the "tools" when needed in itself can be helpful. Different; but yet the having the "tools" brings to mind the term used by those going to AA meetings for alcohol/drug use. My daughter happens to be one of those people. She is grateful she has the "tools" to help her thru difficult times. Again, sounds like it is worth looking into. Gerry |

have you ever heard of energy therapists? I've had some panic attacks as well and it helped, along with EFT. Search on Youtube to find out what it is and if it's right for you, but tens of thousands of people with anxiety benefited from it.

I had an extreme attack that put me in the ER about 7 yrs ago, major issue going on in family....they gave me lorazepam and I took 1/2mg for some time...got off it NOW and keep it handy, but Gaba and Inositol keep me centered and pretty calm. I take higher dosing of magnesium thru the day too. C

We have an ill family member and this combined with my own health problems ...well, it all definitely contributed to depression at times.
Although everyone is different, I personally have found that certain vitamins have been helpful for me in terms of fighting depression and anxiety. These supplements for me have included: Vitamin D3, Fish Oil, B Complex, extra b12 and a multi vitamin. I also take extra Magnesium at night. I take more than this, but these are the ones I think might be extra helpful for fighting depression and anxiety. Most importantly though, you very likely should seriously consider regular appointments with a talk therapist. It sounds like you have access to some strong medications and if your doctor felt they were necessary, that's fine, but, it does indicate that you very likely would benefit from regular talk therapy with a good therapist. Getting regular sleep at night and gentle exercise during the day is often of help as well. Wishing you good health and happiness. |

Here is a link which reviews natural supplements for anxiety:
http://www.natural-remedies-review.c...r-anxiety.html If you click on the name of a supplement, another page comes up that contains results from research studies and additional information on the product. Be careful with dosages if you try anything from the list. With any supplement I usually start low and work my way up to a dosage that brings me results. |
