Default taking vit D3 with magnesium ?

When taking vit D causes constipation there is a MG deficiency also ? this is what I found on couple of websites. Anyone heard of this ? I stopped taking vit D3 because of constipation, but I'm trying to figure out the way to keep taking it.

Default mrs.D-please help !

Morton's epsom lotion -can I use it on my neck ( have a neck pain for 2 months ) and at the same time to help with my constipation because of vit D3 ? I was reading mrs.D's thread about magnesium, and just realized that I have a bottle of this lotion ! ( never used it so far )

Yes, you can use it on your neck.... I use it on my jaw too.

Just keep it away from your eyes.

It is wonderful on the neck.

I can't comment on the constipation... never heard of Vit D causing that.

So how much magnesium we are getting this way ? from the lotion ? and how often can I use it during the day ?
Few minutes after I rubbed the lotion on my neck it felt like a heartburn in my throat, and later on down toward my stomach. Is this normal to taste it without swallowing it ?
I saw on other sites people are talking about getting constipated from vit D3 and it's happening to me every time I try to use it.
thank you !

You don't use much at all. On the neck a pea sized dollop...on the tip of your finger.
A small amount like that lasts me more than a day.
It is not used heavily like a moisturizer.

The skin is an effective barrier to most things, including magnesium. You cannot absorb large amounts therefore from the lotion.

Headache and constipation are common problems for people. These discomforts are commonly reported for most drug trials too.

Some people are just very suggestible with both these aliments.
It is very difficult therefore to tell what is real and what is linked to the placebo effect (which is a huge % of most treatments).

I never have constipation and this happened to me before, to have it when I start using the vit D3. and when I mentioned other sites, I mean sites similar to this one where people are telling their own stories, not people from trials. My dr.s didn't hear about it either .

Now, calcium has been linked to constipation. If you are taking a combo product or calcium on the side, that might be more common.

Everyone is different. I never get constipation --- and I take 10,000IU most days. As summer approaches and I am outside more, I cut back and finally stop D supplements, until Oct.

No, I don't take calcium. But I'm looking forward to summer also to get my D without supplements.
Thanks mrsD !
