I read so many posts about so much pain and many taking so many pain drugs. I try to keep the pain meds to a minimum as I just don't want more toxins added to my body.
I deal with Fibro, bodywide OA and a mess from hip replacement. I've been taking MSM powder for many years, forget how many, but a lot. I own a book on the Miracle of MSM.... A person on an RA group talked about taking MSM to help reduce his pain issues....taking higher doses is what he takes as do I...1 tsp of powder is about 5 grams so I get usually 15 to 20 grams per day. I think this MSM keeps my pain levels in more control. I still have pain but ibuprofen and pain rx herbal get me thru my 24 hrs....pain is manageable. So I'm thinkin the MSM helps with all this pain. |

Supposedly it is good for so many more things than pain, sinus/asthma/allergies, hair/nails/skin, internal/intestinal problems... on and on..
I learned about it in 1999 when I had a major RSI injury, I really think it played a big part in my recovery and pain reduction. I need to get my bottle of MSM capsules out from the back of my cabinet and start taking it regular again.. it got pushed to the back last time we got some new OTC stuff...

You are correct, it addresses so many more issues too. I'm hooked on the powder and don't let myself run out. My first morning drink is 1/2 glass distilled water, 1 tsp MSM powder, l/2 glass low sodium V8 juice (lots of potassium) and fresh lemon squeezed in the drink...so good and I can kinda feel my morning pain easing up.
