A very good point about rancid oil.
When buying, the oil should be refrigerated at the store. Watch expiration dates on bottles.

As soon as I open a bottle, I drop in 2-3 caps of vitamin E.

Hi Pinkynose,

Vitamin E is an antioxidant and may help to protect the oil from turning rancid longer. It's not necessary, yet something I had started years ago and continue.

Like Kitt, I keep ground flax seeds in the freezer as well. I enjoy ground flax seeds very much!

Wink

Most Omega-3 products (capsules and oil) have vit E added as a preservative.

Check your labels and you will find it.

Some of the flax seeds are already rancid on the shelves at the store.
Be careful where you buy them.
