The only supplement that I take is taurine (1 g/day). This arose from a series of discussions that I had with mrsD.
Recently I have developed painful osteoarthritis in one shoulder (confirmed by my GP and physiotherapist). Following a PubMed search I decided to increase my dose to 3 g/day. After about a week (early days) I have noticed some improvement. There is some background to this here Taurine and inflammatory diseases.
