If the damage was done by deficiency, getting B12 stores up high is very good, but even that does not guarantee repair of the damage. And when damage has gone so far as to affect mobility, any improvement that is possible will probably take a very long time and be very difficult.
Please remember that if her body is repairing, it is working very hard. Symptoms can worsen, even dramatically, before great improvement in one area or another. In addition to that, has she had a ferritin test? rose

To properly heal one also needs essential fatty acids, B6, folic acid and
magnesium. These nutrients in addition to B12 repair myelin sheaths that may be damaged for whatever reason. B12 is essential, but does not exist in a vacuum. It is a team player.

Matty...
I can relate to you , because my wife had a similar incident ....suddenly she lost all her energy ..had sweat...dazed eyes...but it lasted for few seconds. That was the worst although she had similar incidents of less intensity before. That was before she started B12 and Iron. As Rose has pointed out , please do your wife's ferritin test if you have not done so far. Since then my wife has been taking 2000 mcg/day of methyl B12 and proferrin Iron tablets(Heme Iron). Her improvement graph has taken a curve up since she started her Iron tablets. Although we have not done ferritin test after that. Study about Celiac and other auto immune disorders ....look for other possibilities ! Do you give your wife glucose etc?when she feels like this ? (I am no expert .....learning myself) Good luck... |

Absolutely. If something else is not in the body in sufficient quantities, or being used correctly, B12 cannot take its place. The body must have all the nutrients to do the work right.
I would do a lot of reading on this forum, where many times B complex, fish oil, etc., have been mentioned as necessary to cover just in case. rose
