It might be plenty, but it is a very good thing that you are taking oral regularly just in case.

Sounds like he's a good one.

HI, medhelp
He did a blood test. I think its a test for antibodies. I did not get the results back yet. I have an appointment with him next week. If you want to read good information about celiac, google the gluten file.

Rose I hope you are still checking in on this post. I only had one shot of b12 a little over a week ago. I did not ask the dr. what type of b12 it was or the dose. I have an appiontment next thursday for another shot I will ask him then. Since that shot I have also been taking the sub. methly b12, at least 3000mcg a day somtimes 2 X's a day. I am not as tired but my legs, from the knee down, are killing me. In the morning they start to tingle and then form 3:00 on they are so sore and tight feeling, they just realy hurt. Also yesterday I had the starngest thing happen. I got a pain in my lower stomach and I had to urinate every 5 minutes. The only thing I drank was 1 cup of coffee and a bottle of water. (usually I drink much more) The strangest thing was when I went to the bathroom every time it was clear, like water. The pain was very bad and lasted 2-3 hours. Today I had a little pain in the morning and as the day went on everything went back to normal. I have read that you may feel worse as your body starts to heal it's self. I never expect to feel this soreness in my legs. It is very difficult to work. I was off for the whole summer. I started back to work on sept 4th. I haven't worked a full day yet. Right now the way my legs feel I don't know if I can. Iam just shocked to feel this bad. I thought I would at least feel better first and then feel a little different as my body healed itself.

No guarantee, but it might be very good. In fact, if your body is already that busy with the weird stuff, you may be on the fast track (unlike me and some others who have to wait for months or even years until some of the longstanding problems are addressed and things in those areas get weird before improving).

Be alert to other possibilities, but the timing and the "not as tired" followed by unpleasant weirdness sounds good . The first positive response varies tremendously, and so do the weird symptoms and the timeline.

Best wishes to you!

I don't mean to intrude... I saw the question and thought I'd reference some info.

There should be lots of info. re: celiac testing in the gluten sensitivity area here:

This one may prove to be the most useful:

Lightbulb I'd like to go back to the orig. question for a moment...

This thread has become long and is diverging a bit.

1) I do not think B-vits give this feeling described here.

2) I have had this flopping in the chest flutter for years. Usually the heartbeat is not affected. But a year or so ago I had one episode where I would have
3-4 normal beats, then a skip. It happened once after a meal. We were on vacation, and I didn't want to drive over 100 miles in the boonies to a small ER...so I sat up (my spells always happen lying down) and the skipping stopped.

3) I have a severe hiatal hernia diagnosed along with my malrotation. So we thought this was the reason. The movement of the stomach/esophagus up thru the diaphram gives a peculiar feeling. and creates this need to cough as well.

4) So then I read a story in the paper about eating a heavy meal (it was after Thanksgiving) and how many people end up in the ER with "heart" symptoms.
The doctor in that article (and I will try to find another to put up here) said this can happen and is typically benign. It is something to do with irritation of the vagus nerve.

5) I have had the flutter for a while, then it goes away for months or even years only to return for a while and go away again. The "need to clear the throat or cough" seems to stop the sensation.

So I would recommend this original poster to evaluate for hiatal hernia, and watch for association of the symptom after a meal.

Edit--- here are some links I just found:

(about 1/2 way down the page)

and here is another forum where people discuss this same issue:

If I'm low in magnesium, my heart flutters.

I supp. with citrate and notice a difference. Also, I only drink coffee on the weekends now because I notice that I get the heart flutterings if I drink it for more than 3 days in a row and don't supp. my magnesium.

Later, I researched in and, sure enough, there are links between heart behaviour and magnesium.
