Default Fish Oil/Soy?

Hi I want to start taking fish oil pills again. I feel cause of my past malnurishment I may have lacked esential fats for so long that it may have contributed. Now this is on my own basis no docs have said this. I was taking it but at Clevelend they said I didn't need to since I'm young.I want to see if it helps with my pain level as well. Anyhow I have fish oil pills and 1 is 1200mg so I took 2 yesterday. Is this optimal on a daily basis? I have some fish and I bought some products fortified with omega. Is there a concern for too much? I'm trying to increase my daily fat intake too but not increasing my calories anymore so its about rebalancing. Also what is the word on soy? How does everyone feel about this? Thanks always.
