i use the rexall brand of milk thistle. each gel tab is 1000mg. i got it at walmart. i do like it better than the kind that looks like dry herbs in the gel caps.

i've been getting my flax in bread. arrow root brand has a real good whole grain with flax seed.

dear shelly
I do not know if you are on alot of medications, so milk thistle being a detox
herbal - you must be careful -
first if you use milk thistle to liver cleanse, you must cleanse the bowels,
first, it is easier on the body...
and flax seed - is fine it is an omega 3 oil -
take care,

Thanks Tena, and trust me today those bowels are a cleansing , although not the way I want.

Not on too many meds....birth control pills, thryoid med and the occasional nasonex and cellebrex.

Do think I need some liver cleansing though.

Post We use

NatureMade Flaxoil... which I get at Costco.

When we all started the EFAS here I used the liquid oil and made it into
salad dressings and smoothies. You get much more that way ..higher doses.
Once we all responded to it, and plateaued, I switched to capsules. That is what we do now. (convenient). I keep them in the frig, as Flax oil does not have a long shelf life.

Some people do better with an evening primrose cap as well. This helps the flax get utilized better. We dropped this helper after 2 yrs on the oils. Once your own body chemisty perks up, I don't think you need it (some men do however, since they convert much less than women do).

I don't know much about Milk Thistle. Here is a good monograph on it, including interactions with drugs:
http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/m...tle-000266.htm

this link goes into a bit more detail:
http://healthlibrary.epnet.com/GetCo...chunkiid=21817

There is a warning that milk thistle may reduce effectiveness of birth control pills.

I use ground flaxseed a lot you can get anywhere. I heard the oil though you can't cook with it it is just to use on things. Also some products now by smart balance if you like pb or butter have it in it to.Does anyone take borage pills?I was recommended it but it seems very little people take it.

HI Daniella,

I do take borage pills. I read that they help inflammation as it relates to prostaglandins.

Just recently read to futher reduce prostaglandins to combine the borage oil witht he flax seed.

Actually I am taking all three.

I picked up some flax seen oil today. I take borage oil and then fish oil.

I only take 2 times a day. Three times and I am in the bathroom more than I like
