Default Magnesium?Back Muscle Pull?

Like I said my doc wants me to add more magnesium and up to 10 a day depending when diarrhea happens at these are 120mg. So if I get to 10 without diarrhea do I stay with that amount for ever? Is there any issues from too much? Thanks. Also I have what I think is a lower back muscle pull and a very bad one at that. Is there anything else that can help aid this issue for quicker recovery or more comfort at least?I am thinking too to add my b complex back in. I had taken it out cause my b12 was so high so one doc said to stop but said for a week and then see no idea why. Also since I am going to add the b complex in which contain 150mg vitamin c and my multi has 60mg and glucosamine has 60mg plus my 500mg vitamin c that is 770mg of vitamin c supp is that ok daily? Thanks again

Post not all that tablet is

is magnesium. Most tablets are not labeled as to elemental vs total weight
and are confusing.

The ratio of magnesium in those tablets is between 10 and 16%.
I think you should reread my magnesium thread, esp post #10
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread1138.html

Don't forget you are paying your doctor to take care of you, and he should
explain things to your satisfaction. Don't hesitate to make him do so.

Thanks see we ran out of time and the supp was the last part. I am not sure if I like this doc and he is expensive. If it helped it would be worth it but 400 per 40 min is expensive and he seems to say the opposite of a lot of the other docs on my issue not the supp but dx. I will look at that site again. What about the b complex and then the vitamin c issue any thoughts? Thank you.

Sorry I am confused also about magnesium till I get my order of magnesium glycinde I am taking the magnesium oxide. I usualy take 250mg but today I took 2 for 500mg. No diareah but is that ok or too much. I know the doc for the other said I could take up to 10 of te 120mg so that would be over 1000mg but a different kind. So is 500mg a day of the magnesium oxide till I get my order ok or is it going to cause issues though I took today. I want to help my muscle pull in my back asap.

Question 500mg of magnesium oxide is

about equal to 10-15mg of magnesium. RDA is about 400mg for comparison.

I see no harm in using it. But don't expect much of a benefit.

I found a post from you in early December that you were using SlowMag.
What happened to those? Why did you get MagOxide?

I was taking that slow mag but I changed back to the oxide till I get the glycinde the doc ordered. Ok so let me understand is the rda for oxide or for magnesium? So when I take the 500 I only get 15 so I am 385 below the rda but some else I get from food or from my multi?Or is the rda for the oxide? When I get the glycinde I will switch to 120mg tablets and up to 10?Sorry if I am so lost.Is the only issue it cause bowels but no other harm?
