Do you know what your MCV was (mean corpuscular volume). If it is elevated,
that is an early warning of B12 deficiency.

My MCV was 90--normocytic. I did not have a MMA test. I know that is a better test for b12 deficiency but I figured I would push for that if my b12 was low. I have an appointment with a hematologist next month for an unrelated reason but I could talk to him about getting a MMA. If I am on high doses of b12 will that affect a MMA test?
Thanks,
